Dear SAU 90 Staff and Families,
Although I had hoped to keep this to a monthly newsletter, I felt it was necessary to provide an update on First Student along with a few district reminders. According to Ben Henry, the Area General Manager for Northern New England, “negotiations continue, and the company is optimistic that they will reach a mutually acceptable agreement. They understand that reliable transportation is critical for students and families.” We are hopeful that they will reach a mutually acceptable agreement in the days ahead. I will continue to keep you updated as details unfold. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Please remember to kindly return all paperwork that was sent home the first week of school. This includes all free and reduced lunch forms. We make every effort to provide breakfast, lunch, and snack to all students who have interest. Under the new guidelines, more families are eligible to participate in our lunch program at either a free or reduced rate. We ask all families to return this 4-question form promptly.
We are pleased to have the services of Patrice Baker, Early Intervention Outreach Specialist, in our district. Her role is to work with parents of children from newborn to preschool while providing support and resources to our youngest learners. Early intervention is critical as we think about our “littles” entry to school as it relates to life-long success. Patrice can be reached at 603-926-8992, ext. 117 or pbaker@sau21.org.
Finally, our PTA met this past Tuesday. Their meetings take place on the second Tuesday of the month at 5:00 PM in the Hampton Academy Community Room. They are currently holding their annual Mums Sale in collaboration with the Hampton Rec. We ask all parents to become members of this organization in support of our schools and community.
Wishing you a great weekend ahead!
Warm regards,
Dr. Lois B. Costa
Superintendent of SAU 90
