Weekly Update

March 17, 2023

Dear Parents, Staff, and Families of SAU 90:

This week, I had the opportunity to visit Centre School, and there were a number of activities and lessons that fit nicely with our St. Patrick’s Day theme including the trapping of leprechauns and other fun events that captured the spirit of the week.  At Marston School and Hampton Academy, students participated in warm spirit days to commemorate the occasion while focusing on building communities of learners!  Please be sure to check out the district Facebook page which highlights my visit at Centre School.

This weekend, we are pleased to offer two opportunities to our families.  Murder on the 518 will be performed by the Hampton Academy Players on Friday at 7 PM and on Saturday at 7 PM.  Tickets are available at the door.  Also, Little Shop of Horrors will be performed at Winnacunnet High School.   We hope you will consider attending these community events while supporting our students, schools, and the arts!

On Monday, March 20, report cards will be made available through the parent portal at 4 pm. You should receive an email with your child’s report card attached.  Please check your Spam or Junk folder for this. Should you need any assistance logging in or accessing ALMA, please be sure to reach out to our Data Specialist, Mr. Tim Smith.  He can be reached at 603-926-4560 or tsmith@sau90.org.  On Wednesday, March 22, parents will have the opportunity to meet with classroom teachers and staff to discuss their child’s progress.  We look forward to these conversations and partnering with families on their child’s educational progress. Please remember that this is an early release day for students.

We are pleased to let you know that on Tuesday, during the town elections, the Hampton voters passed all warrant articles related to the school district.  We are thankful for the support from our community and appreciate the positive affirmation in support of our schools, children, and staff.

We, in collaboration with the New Hampshire Department of Education, value your feedback and want to hear from you! The 603 Bright Futures Survey is an opportunity to hear from you, our staff, our families, and our community. The survey will gather actionable feedback around learning models, school climate, family and community engagement, as well as other topics in order to understand the successes and challenges of the recent school year and plan for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. The survey will also gather special education family data in support of NHED’s federal reporting requirements for Indicator 8.

The survey, which is available in English and Spanish, will be open from March 13 to April 28. School staff, families, and community members will be able to take the survey online, which will take less than 15 minutes to complete. Panorama Education is supporting us with the 603 Bright Futures Survey, and it welcomes any questions pertaining to the survey program. Panorama support can be reached at support+nhed@panoramaed.com.

In closing, we are asking that all families, staff, and community members complete the 603 Bright Futures Survey from the Department of Education. This annual survey will help to ensure our schools are providing high-quality, rigorous learning experiences. Your input and feedback are crucial and will help to guide our efforts to improve our schools. Thank you in advance…

Enjoy the first weekend of spring, and here’s to warmer days ahead.

Warmly,

Dr. Lois B. Costa

Superintendent
