Dear SAU 90 Staff and Families,
As both Learn to Ski/Learn to Snowboard after school offerings come to an end, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our parent coordinators, parents, staff, and administrators for all their efforts in providing the oversight that allows us to continue these great programs. Although, Mother Nature, has not been very cooperative with our snowfall this year, we were still able to take advantage of those Friday afternoons on the slopes together with our school communities. As always, we are grateful for everyone who contributed to the success of these programs!
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend the Geography Bee at Hampton Academy! It was impressive to see the student representation from the school given their expertise and knowledge on this subject. Special thanks to the parents, staff, and students who showed up to support the finalists. They are all winners as they represent the best of the best! In the end, Colin Zuba received the honor of being named the winner and Callum Cook was the runner up. Congratulations to all and special thanks to Mrs. Duffy who coordinated this annual event!
Next Tuesday evening, the PTA meets in the Community Room at Hampton Academy at 7 PM. During this time, our Business Administrator, Mariah Curtis and I will review the warrant articles that will be on the ballot on March 14. We are happy to answer questions you may have regarding our budget which includes a 1.05% increase over our default budget. We also want to remind everyone that the Harlem Wizards are coming to Hampton on Monday, April 3 at 5:30 PM. This promises to be a wonderful night filled with lots of entertainment and fun as teachers and staff take on the legendary Harlem Wizards. Also, please mark your calendars for the second annual Party on the Park which will be held on Saturday, June 3 at 4 PM. These annual events and traditions help bring a sense of community to our schools and town. We hope you can join us!
During our School Board meeting on Tuesday, Food Service Director shared that at this time, as a district approximately $4,500.00 is owed through student accounts. We kindly ask that you please bring your child/children’s accounts up to date prior to our winter break next week. If you need any financial assistance, please be sure to reach out to our Social Worker, Emily Fixler at efixler@sau90.org or Food Service Director, Mary Borg at mborg@sau90.org. It is our greatest goal to work with all our families while providing nutritious and delicious meals which includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
The New Hampshire Department of Education reminded us that this is the week to participate in National Random Acts of Kindness. As a district, we continually focus on on respect and kindness every day. Please enjoy the lovely pictures that were taken on Valentine’s Day at Centre School. In closing, I ask that you always choose kindness and love every day. Together, we are Hampton Strong!
Kind regards,
Dr. Lois B. Costa
